That feedback is not incorrect. Remember that in Windows 2012 you can use software based teaming of your NIC so it may be that you configure one network for public/private and one dedicated private network both of which of comprised of teamed NICs for resilience. Remember that the weakest part of your Cluster is the single points of failure so if all your NICs are connected into the same switch then you could argue you are running at risk.
One thing that the url doesn't mention (because it is not generally discussed) is that due to the way NetFt cluster filter driver works you should always configure each network under a different subnet, otherwise you will not be utilizing the bandwidth benefits of having them.
Remember that you can get by with a single network or multiple networks but in reality you should always deploy 2 for added resiliency.
